IRB Team take out second place at the Aussies!

Congratulations to the North Burleigh SLSC IRB Team who have finished second at the Australian Titles that were held on the 25th & 26th July at Kawana Waters.

Overall Pointscore:

Kurarawa 36 points
North Burleigh 20 points
Point Lookout 15 points

Gold - Female mass rescue: Kate Czerny, Beth Menhinnitt, Daniel Bailey, Jack Watson
Silver - Female tube rescue: Kate Czerny, Beth Menhinnitt, Leonie Keen
Silver - Male surf rescue: Andy Kelckhoven, Troy Davis, Daniel Bailey
Bronze - Male tube rescue: Brenden Dawson, Ryan Sharpe, Daniel Bailey

South Coast Branch Annual Dinner Awards

Congratulations to the following members who won Awards at the South Coast Branch Annual Dinner on Saturday 18th July 2009:

Robin Donchi - Assessor of the Year
Marg Watson - President's Award
Samuel Hunt - U19 Champion Life Saver
Frank Soden Trophy - Open Taplin Relay (Adam Jeffrey, Adam Morley, Cameron Ward, Hayden Smith, Mitchell Young, Samuel Hunt)

Also, we would like to send our congratulations to Valerie Connell who was awarded with the honour of Life Membership to the South Coast Branch. Val, who is also a Life Member of North Burleigh SLSC, has been recognised for her dedication and contribution to Surf Life Saving with over 23 years of official service. Val has held several positions at both Club and Branch level, has been an official at all levels including Australian Championships and at six World Titles and is also a recipient of the Insternational Surf Life Saving Citation of Merit (1999).
